Mission

Our Precious Gems Foundations (OPG), is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit mentorship organization, whose mission is to create a firm foundation, where young women, are not restricted by their economical backgrounds but are equipped with the proper assistance, guidance and resourceful services throughout their education, career and other developmental areas in order to excel in every aspect of their lives.

OPG Foundations, is designed to reduce common 3rd world barriers such as; early pregnancies, child marriages, molestation, sex trafficking, poverty restrictions, early childhood labor and many other obstacles, that prohibit young women from completing their education and/or living healthy lifestyles by providing sponsorship, hosting and/or participating in events and activities that promote healthy lifestyle choices

Goals

OPG’s mentorship program, will provide young women in Sierra Leone, West Africa, with numerous and consistent forms of resources and guidance through educational facilities, after school programs, career training and other character-building workshops, that promote healthy decision making and focusing on departments such as; mental health, education, kick start in career development, financial literacy, credit education, lifestyle choices and many more character building “TOPICS” that our community usually lacks educating and providing our youths with.

History

Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone West Africa, Fatmata Williams, Founder and CEO migrated to the United States of America in 1997 to find refuge from the on going civil war in Sierra Leone, which began in 1991-2002. Fatmata Williams, started school the same year of arriving at age 4 and immediately was motivated by the multiple opportunities, career choices and many more privileges that were once not an option to her. Navigating through the educational system and her multiple career opportunities, Fatmata ….

Everyone has a special gift embedded in them to bless others with. Even when i give my bare minimum and acknowledged positively for it, I think to myself….wow, imagine if you gave this your all, imagine if you seeked the resource, imagine if you actually put in more effort?

There are so many out there that have those very questions but don’t even have the opportunity to seek the resource, to be placed in the position to excel or given the opportunity to express their God given talent.
As a you grow wiser from an adolescent to a woman, you realize the importance of having the right people in your life. Life has it’s obstacles and many times, people become discouraged by those same obstacles, they tend to give up on their destiny. It’s important to have someone in your life you can look up to, trust and be inspired by. One who leads by example and can help guide you on the right path. OPG Foundations is dedicated to Creating Opportunities, Providing Resources and Producing GEMS.
